An ad for American Express charge cards demonstrating how many common things can looks like faces.
I really genuinely like this ad. It’s like this month’s Esquire’s whole “be happy” thing. Like earlier in the week when I helped a homeless man push his cart out of a snow bank. Then I gave my friend’s co-worker Larry a bag of cookies. Then I walked along, listening to “Empire State of Mind” on repeat over and over again. And it was May-degrees outside in January. Happiness!
If my week could solely be reading Esquire, dressing in grey and black, cuffing jeans with new tasseled loafers, forgoing breakfast in favour of Daims, coffee, beers, bread and riblets, contemplating yoga purely for comic effect and making tons of jokes about “clams” and “fish pate” with my buds, and keeping minimal commitments that I could complain a lot about online… then my week would be as dreamlike (like a good dream) as it was today.
Other update: met Anthony Bourdain after his talk last night. He’s soooooo charming! But I can’t bring myself to watch one of his shows.
