Never liked ‘em.
This whole ‘take the year you were born plus the age you’re gonna be’ thing is killing me. Why does it always total 111? Don’t like it.

Scenes From A Marriage: Blue Valentine’s pitch-perfect documentary feel

Blue Valentine is hard to shake. It asks its audience where love goes, why it disappears. The answer might just be time, but this is something the viewer...

The “Here For Canada” ad from the Conservative party taught me that Stephen Harper uses cheap pens and file folders and has a pretty plain Beatles mug. Finally, we have something in common!
So… as if I wasn’t prepared for Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortenson in The Dangerous Method before reading Vincent Cassell’s description of the new Cronenberg film:
“Freud and Jung “were crazy,” said Cassel. “They were on drugs, they were talking about what they were experiencing with sex, with their relationships with their patients.”

Just watched Ricky Gervais’ opening monologue from the Golden Globes. Goddamn he is funny. I don’t understand why everyone is so apparently put out. I mean, the audience seemed to laugh a lot, and he wasn’t really that controversial, in fact - the jokes were pretty safe I thought. Ah well. Who cares.
"This dinner party is so... Frasier."
Get it? Like those title cards that show used to have. Anyway, compliment!

Retirement Watch Death Clock
So my mom and I were looking for a retirement watch in Birks today, and I suggested one with a mother of pearl face because that’s the one I’d like when she dies. Then the salesman said something suggesting I’d get it in twenty-five years. And, today’s her birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!
Technology is my downfall. Emails cut off, poorly formatted documents etc. I look like a plonker.
