Watching Oprah and J.K. Rowling talking about being billionaires and I’m so happy for them, I’m tearing up. I like them! Hey pals, happy new year and I wish you a billion dollars in 2011!

It’s hard to write a review of The Fighter, because I have a problem with editing ENDLESS PRAISE.
So far, the review begins with this: “The Fighter might be the best film of the year, it is certainly the most entertaining.” And then there’s like, 500 words.
Until it’s up, check out David O. Russell, Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale on Charlie Rose:

Gary at Future Shop is amazing. I said “Hi, how are you?” and he replied “I’m doing shitty.” Aren’t we all Gary, aren’t we all.
Hey guys, I suggest steering clear of David Edelstein’s review of Blue Valentine up on NY Mag unless you want to stumble across giant spoilers.
Poorly done Edelstein.
Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig are a couple now? Thank-you guys for restoring my faith in hot celebrities belonging together. Still bummed out for Aronofsky though.
1L of eggnog and a Doctor Who marathon? COME ON.
Seasonal Blessings
Christmas miracle: my David Lynch zit is gone! Thanks baby Jeez!
Presently downing a 1am snack of beaufort, Japanese espresso stout, Aviv’s stollen and Avalon eggnog.
Life is terrif!
It's Been Fun Christmas!
I had a really great Christmas with Mom, Grandma, Oma and Dad. It was, I’ll admit, a surprise. We had a nice meal, I handed out some pretty swell presents to my little ladies (literally little ladies, both Grandma and Oma are apparently 5’ tall, though I stand 5’3” and they are at least 4-5 inches shorter than me) and I think we all had a really nice time.
Last night, I...
The banking stuff in It’s A Wonderful Life still really confuses me. But when they give away their wedding money, that’s nice.
Christmas eve snack-a-thon: Aviv’s stollen and cranberry bread, chevre noir and BEAUFORT (yeah, I pulled a shift as a cheese monger this afternoon) Avalon Dairy eggnog, Brooklyn black chocolate stout and brandy beans. Rented The Wrestler and Half Nelson. Just waiting it out until cable pops It’s A Wonderful Life on. That movie is my favorite! George Bailey is the dream. Hope you guys...
Favorite thing ever: Jamie Oliver constantly pranking Gennaro with hidden spicy peppers. Also like it when he calls him ‘darling’ and says things like “he got me in the fridge last week.” #strangechristmasfoodnetworkfantasiesthatihave

youmightfindyourself:
Why don’t you believe in God? I get that question all the time. I always try to give a sensitive, reasoned answer. This is usually awkward, time consuming and pointless. People who believe in God don’t need proof of his existence, and they certainly don’t want evidence to the contrary. They are happy with their belief. They even say things like “it’s true to me” and...
I love Christmas, but yet again, I’ll be on my own at a theatre for the holidays. #goodtidings
Big come downs: watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians, after Gypsy, after Black Swan.
Hustled Aviv’s bakings this morning, then saw The Wizard of Oz at the Plaza. The Cinematheque was screening it. I used to hate that movie as a kid, but now I love it. Judy Garland was so fantastic (“oh joy! oh rapture!”) and every tremble in her voice made me tear up. And it was so hard to not sing along! Also, the Plaza is showing It’s A Wonderful Life at noon tomorrow,...
“And this year Ralph Lauren let meeeee pick the colour of my favorite cashmere sweater and I picked this colour because it made me think of a sandy beach and my dog Sadie.”Cuts to a picture of her dog.
I hope one day my children get to watch Oprah’s Favorite Things. Maybe I’ll reenact it to teach them about Christmas. Like, tons of boxes everywhere, I’m wearing a...
WHY IS OPRAH’S FAVORITE THINGS (part 1 of 2) MAKING ME CRY?
The audience is loooooosssssing it!
Remember when The Daily Show won an Emmy this year, and everyone was kind of “ugh”? No, completely deserved. Just watched Jon Stewart interview 9/11 first-responders (all ill, mostly from cancer) about the senate’s inability to pass their well-deserved healthcare bill. Soul-crushing. Especially when the fireman said (in response to Republican senators’ decision to not work...
RIP Blake Edwards. My heart goes out to you Julie Andrews (it’s with you every day, but today especially.)
Remember When Buffy's Hometown Fell In On Itself?
At Beano, two guys, late 30s, developer & real estate agent- asking me “do girls like when guys play games?” and launch into super detailed examples. Buddies. Come on.
I hope at this year’s Oscars, The Dark Knight takes Best Picture.
Charlie Rose tonight: Blue Valentine and The Fighter. And Black Swan starts this weekend in Calgary. Love this time of year!
Ugh. Richard Holbrooke died, so it’s an appreciation of him on Charlie Rose tonight.
Anyway, read an interview with Derek Cianfrance from Interview Magazine. I suppose any Cassavetes fan is going to like, just love Blue Valentine.
Now reading Ryan Gosling being interviewed for the mag by Steve Carell. Great start:
STEVE CARELL: This is so intimate.
RYAN GOSLING: [whispers] Steve.

Derek Cianfrance, Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams on Charlie Rose tonight!

Weekend Update is just so funny!
Paul McCartney and Seth Meyers doing the voices of Camilla and Charles (respectively) “oh I love you” “I love you” “oh I love you” “I love you” - gut is bursted. You know how people have birth songs? If I need a birth song one day, that’ll be it.

Me: “it’s the anniversary of John Lennon’s death”
My boss: “who’s that?” (somewhat jokingly)
My boss’ mom: “you’re sick”
Just witnessed approximately 1 minute of Glee. It’s as if every awful feeling in my body was sucked to the surface by this painful show. I’m glowing anger and despair.
